Familiarity with the underlying disease conditions and their impact on anesthetics improves the outcome of the anesthetic procedure and is a necessary step for practicing veterinarians. In addition, controlling pain and appropriate analgesic medications and methods are essential for animals’ welfare and improving the outcome of the procedures. In this course, these topics will be discussed in detail to help clinicians design anesthetic and analgesic protocols tailored to the needs of the animal and the disease condition.
